FORMAL AND BUSINESS ATTIRE

Although dress is normally casual, there are occasions when a more formal attire is needed. Here are some examples of clothing worn specifically for a formal affair or a business event.

FOR WOMEN

Due to sensitivity to conservative Muslim and Hindu beliefs, much of the dress worn by women are also conservative. Blouses that cover at least their upper arms and skirts with lengths below the knee or longer are expected during a formal or business event. Dresses and dress-suits that are conservative in length are also appropriate.

Pants and pantsuits are not appropriate for women, however. Neither are bright and vivid hues. Dark and muted colors should be worn and women's formal or business attire should appear baggy rather than form fitting.

FOR MEN
Denim jeans are also worn on an informal or casual basis by men. Because of the hot weather , majority of men wear open-necked batik shirts. Men also wear shorts, but only at recreational facilities or on the beach.Aura Batik will definately add a positive vibes to your leisure.

INFORMAL AND CASUAL ATTIRE

Due to the warm and humid
climate, clothing of light garments are worn on a daily basis. Here are a few examples
of clothing worn informally and casually.

FOR WOMEN
In general women wear clothing that are similar to western styles. However, due to tradition, women tend to dress more conservatively even during casual affairs. Baggy skirts and dresses are appropriate, as well as slacks, are appropriate for casual and informal wear. Shorts, halters or tank tops should only be worn at sports facilities or on the beach.

What is Aura in Batik?

Aura is an invisible breath (energy) with a distinctive and intangible quality that seems to surround a person or a thing.
The literal meaning of the word Batik is defined as the method of dyeing a fabric by which the parts of the fabric not intended to be dyed are covered with removable wax. In Indonesia, the word Batik means "to dot". Although this fabric can be found in many regions in Africa and India, the Batik is unique and unparalleled.

According to tradition, each time the batik artisan executes a particulary intricate pattern, the design is not only fixed upon the cloth, but the meaning of the design is engraved more deeply in the soul of the artisan themselves in the existence of AURA that surrounds. Batik is considered one of the most respected arts and is looked upon as a way to develop spiritual discipline.

Not only is Batik a rich cultural tradition , but it is also a tribute to the patience and creativity of the women/men who have fine-tuned the craft of beautifying the fabric. Credit is also given to the men who prepare the cloth and handle the dyeing and finishing process.

The process of Batik starts out with freehand pencil designs on the textile. Liquid wax is then applied to areas that are not to be colored. The whole cloth is then submerged into a large vat of dye. The wax is then removed with hot water and hand scraped from portions that are meant to be dyed later. Next, areas that need no more color are again covered with an additional layer of wax. This proccess of waxing and dyeing continues until the overall pattern and effect are acheieved.
